humm this one was... fine. good! i like the group of characters this universe (or just, these two books, i guess) are made up of on the one hand. but... idk, aiden and del are both sort of characters that just aren't quite for me. the whole, kinda overprotective, butch, kinda stoic thing is never really my fav trope in general, add the fact that they're both cops and... i'm even less into it. THAT SAID, i really liked both dawn and kade so it sort of overshadowed it (a little) for me. (that might be because i LOVE the voices that the narrator abby craden gives the two of them, but i liked them both a lot).

this one is in some ways a continuation of dawn and aiden's love story but they take a sliiiiiight backseat to kade and del's story in this one. like the first book, this one jumps back and forth through a lot of different povs, mostly the main romance characters (dawn, aiden, kade, & del) with the occasional view of one of the side characters. this one is more focused on kade coming out as bisexual, her growing relationship with del, and the mystery/crime of her stalker investigation. in general, i didn't like kade and del as much as i liked dawn and aiden, they were fine, but i liked del a lot better as a family friend character in the first book.
