This is interesting. It’s tense. It’s uncomfortable. The main character is exploring, in her head, her relationship to her partner and white supremacy at large as they prepare to visit her partner’s family at their estate in the country. We learn a bit about how the main character moves through a world that she does not belong to and the conflict that exists in her life. This was relatable, for me. It is upsetting b it is a reality for a Black woman living in a world that is unwelcoming to people who look like you. This is a fascinating read.
