Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick
4.0

While this book was sad yet heartwarming, I don’t think it was as good as Hugo Cabret. Maybe it’s because it doesn’t have an audiobook like Hugo. I still enjoyed it though!

I feel so bad for Ben.

So in the illustrations we a see a girl who has a sign that says “help me” which is concerning.

On no! Ben completely lost his hearing!

So the girl who’s in the illustrations is deaf.

The illustration girl might be named Rose. And her last name is Kencaid which is the same place that Ben needs to go to.

Ah so the actress that the deaf girl likes is her mother.

“I was afraid if you found your father, he’d take you away and you wouldn’t come anymore. And if you didn’t find him, you’d go back to Gunflint Lake and I’d never see you again.”—Page 485

Aw, Jamie.

“Then, without looking back, he headed for the door.”—Page 487

Nooooo, Ben! I understand but Jamie is so alone!

“‘Rose.’ She pointed the pen toward the old man. ‘My brother, Walter.’”—Page 514

Wait what?

So was all Rose’s stuff in the past? That’s clever.
