Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

4.0

i don’t think i’ve fully recovered from this book- it was unsettling but in the best way.
i also couldn’t shake the feeling the girls gave me of deja vu- the bitchy mean girls it’s definitely an experience that most teenage girls have had. each character was raw and had a painful past while trying to fit into social norms of a midwest american town.

i find that there is something refreshing about pathological women in books. i think it’s because of how women are usually perceived as weak and plagued with innocence and would never have it in them to be evil. gillian flynn is amazing at complex characters which i will always love.

although i would’ve wanted the last but about amma to have been slower for my tension but other than that it was so good.

definitely worth a read!!
