The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
5.0
Erin Morgenstern has crafted a love letter to storytelling with The Starless Sea. The way it uses prose to give weave its narrative while also showing reverence for how narratives are crafted through tout our lives. This book completely took me by surprise by how much I like it, if you had asked me after the book 1 (the sections of chapters are labeled as “books”) I would have told you it was trying to hard to invoke something. By the end of the journey it complete earns everything it laid out.
If you have any love for CS Lewis or magical worlds similar to Narnia, then I would give The Starless Sea a shot. The ending could make some people upset because it does not answer every single question, but looking back on what was setup through the previous pages it could not have ended another way.
