Secrets Inside Me by Tristina Brockway, Tristina Brockway

4.0

I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

““She nods, a small smile playing on her lips. “I didn’t think I would find someone who understand, who can take me places I’ve never been before.” I lean in and kiss her softly. “And I didn’t think I would find someone who trust me enough to give up control, to be in this together.””

Tropes – Dark Mafia Romance; Dual POV; M/F Unilever’s; Friends to lovers; Dom/Sub; Revenge

In the second installment of the crimson queens duet we follow Kat’s story. I love that these women are certified bad A’s. Driven into hiding that brings upon a multitude of secrets including her identity. Kat doesn’t just run in and get even. She plays the long game to extract her revenge and take what is her, a game in which she will be the only winner. Once the secrets are out, the true Mafia Queen is ready to take her throne.

I really enjoyed the second book in this series. This is a short read so it may feel a bit rushed, but it is good for in between series or if you’re unsure what to grab next. I love in these novels the men are the ones taking a backseat and letting the women take the lead. They support where they need to and Chance definitely steps up to the plate. It is possible to read this prior to book two but it will give spoilers. I recommend reading book 1 Her Crimson Queen prior to this one.
