You'll almost always get me with the short chapters. Each snippet had enough information to maintain a feeling of progress, while also offering enough mystery that you want to keep searching. Love the timeline, a very neat and simple little tool (and one I haven't often seen authors use) to keep the timelines manageable and easy to follow.
