All of Us Villains by C.L. Herman, Amanda Foody

Read this as a mental palate cleanser. Well that was my intent anyway. To my surprise I went insane over this book this weekend.

Listen… does the worldbuilding often seem to operate on moon logic? Is the prose really pretty barebones? Is there annoying repetition of certain words (okay okay Alistair is soooo wicked we get it now)?

Yes to all the above.

But did it also have fantastic pacing and a commitment to the bit and did it constantly throw scenarios and relationships that were constantly coming for my throat (or maybe just my id/lizard brain.)

YES TO ALL THE ABOVE

There’s just something so wonderfully unselfconscious about it. Even the witty YA banter bits. I don’t know if this is a book I would recommend to anyone and everyone… actually no I definitely wouldn’t. But it sure as fuck worked for me.
