This was a fantastic read, ending and all, but there is a bit of a problem with the marketing. This is a realistic story set in the early aughts about four high school friends - three at an Christian boarding school - deciding to make cash by selling horny anime bootleg DVDs to their peers. Along the way the notoriety and the money get the better of their relationships and leads to a sticky end. There are quirky trimmings to the artwork - I loved all the asides - but this is a high drama story with real consequences. Being a queer teen in a Christian environment is a guaranteed bad time.
I loved it and I must say I hadn't thought of 'I My Me! Strawberry Eggs' in years. Wow. Thank you for that, I guess.
