Mortal Danger by Eileen Wilks
4.0

Former police officer, Lily Yu has a lot on her plate. She has to attend her sister’s wedding, deal with her grandma’s impromptu decision to visit China, and find a missing magical staff. She also has a lot to deal with when it comes to her lover, Rule Turner, who she is bound to for life, against both of their wills, and despite the fact that they barely know each other. This really gets to Lily, who really just wants some modicum of control over the situation, but is left to sink or swim. This book was much better than the first one. I enjoyed the dynamic between Lily and Rule and their struggle to get to know each other while feeding into the pull generated by their connection. I also enjoyed getting to know more about Cullen. Also, I really enjoy Lily’s grandmother’s character and I have the feeling that I will like her more as the books go on
