DID NOT FINISH
TW: Animal abuse
First of all, DNF, got to page 228 and just never picked it back up. Had I known the “monster” was a literal fucking tapeworm I would have never bought it. 1 star because the writing style is actually pretty darn good, and .5 stars because I like the cover art, that’s it. The story could’ve been over an done with in half the pages, it drags on for far too long. I’m a huge fan of horror and this was not scary in the slightest. Stephen King must’ve been smokin deep fried dick when he wrote his review because I literally could not finish this. Also?? Why does every horror book need to include animal abuse? I read the first sentence about a kitten being murdered and skipped right the fuck past that. It’s completely unnecessary and pissed me off enough that I won’t finish it out of spite.
Every now and then they was something that grabbed my attention, but then I’m let down again. I had “The Deep” in my Amazon list but after this I’m removing it. Time to continue my search for a real horror author.
