With most of my reviews I start with what I liked, what I didn't like, then who I would recommend this for.

Beautiful cover, and a very interesting premise. The sisters aesthetic was really cool and interesting.
The sister relationship in this book is very cute.
I would check the TW before reading

Going in I was expecting a darkish horror YA and it was kinda that but didn't live up to the hype for me.
This story was very similar to "every heart a doorway" and that book did not work for me and neither did this one. I cant exactly pin point it but something about the writing and execution misses the mark for me.
There was a "comical relief" character I believe I could've done without. I found the plot twist predictable and some of the characters weren't enjoyable at all.

I personally did not enjoy this book, I don't think I would read this again. I think if you enjoyed Every Heart a Doorway then you would like this and if you like a mild horror YA mystery with a very light midsommer aesthetic this may be for you.
