Really enjoyed this book -- it is super engaging and sucks you right in, like book Crack. Liked the magical world and while I don't usually like overpowered main characters, I do appreciate that this book owns it from the beginning that these 2 are destined to be super powerful -- but with the caveat that they don't know how to use their powers yet. What I don't like about the book is the amount of torture and bullying these 2 are put through by the lead male characters who are being set up as love interests. I like an enemies to lovers trope but found it really hard to see much redeeming qualities in thr men in this book, or even in the cultural system introduced in the book that glorifies bullying and power without honor or any moral constraints. That part is pretty icky, but I am hoping we get a little more redeeming qualities in the male characters moving forward and perhaps the girls will be able to shift the fae cultural norms as they grow into their power.
That said, this book is so addictive that I basically started the next as soon as I was done and will probably read all 12 if the other books are even half this engaging.
