Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami

4.0

“Time weighs down on you like an old, ambiguous dream. You keep on moving, trying to sleep through it. But even if you go to the ends of the earth, you won't be able to escape it. Still, you have to go there- to the edge of the world. There's something you can't do unless you get there.”

A hazy, dream-like, magical realism literary fic that was super intriguing to read! I find this whole story hard to describe, with really cool whimsical bits with a lot of pretentious tangents tucked in. It was five star until damn Odepius reared his ugly head in, which was gross and uncomfy for me and took me out of the story a little, but overalllll very good!! Would die for Nakata and the cats
