Vicious Prince is a loosely based on Romeo and Juliet in that there are the two houses of Montague and Capulet, however the main characters in this case are Rome and Avery. While there are obvious ties to the original story this novel by Lili St Germain is definitely a different tale. It is a dark contemporary suspense thriller that combines mafia families with a brutal abduction.
Lili St Germain is a gifted writer that draws in the reader and keeps them there through a enthralling dynamic plot and engaging character. This book was dynamite but also distressing at times so please read with caution.
Vicious Prince is best read with out spoilers and I would recommend it for readers who like their romance extra dark, suspense, thriller, mafia and contemporary retelling of Shakespearian tales.
