Freedom by Jonathan Franzen

1.0

I am never one to stop reading a book once I start it, but I was just not a fan of this novel AT ALL. I am surprised I made it through 49 very boring pages.

"But sometimes the best thing is just to learn your lesson and make sure you never get in the same position again" (Franzen 47) is what a lead character's father told her after he found out she had been raped, and I will remember those completely unrealistic words of advice if I am ever again tempted to read a Jonathan Franzen novel. Touché, Mr. Franzen! Well played!
