Calm and Quiet after a Storm of Words

After reading several wordy and intricately detailed books, I found solace in Kazuo Ishiguro's "The Remains of the Day." He could teach a masterclass in precision, subtlety, and restraint. His writing is deceptively simple yet intensely evocative, melancholic, and elegant. Oh, to write like Ishiguro! Each word is meticulously selected, immersing the reader in the introspective journey of Stevens as he grapples with a steady march of time. Every moment feels significant. Every word serves a purpose. It was a refreshing and gratifying read.
