A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

3.0

I tried to read this when I was deep in my Hades and Persephone reading binge, but I cannot get into 3rd pov anymore so kept shelving it.

This time I had tapped out almost everything recommended, so thought I'd give it another go. The final push was seeing it compared to After on tiktok- bless my angst loving heart.

I definitely see the After parallel but it took until about 80% to actually see it.
I feel like the ending would have been better ending on a cliffhanger instead of the neat little bow it was wrapped up in.

The actual book itself was okay, bit slow paced and I didn't *really* feel a connection between H&P. The relationship side took quite a long time to happen, but not a great deal actually happened between H&P to really make me convinced they were in love.

Im hoping the next book is a bit better.
