Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo
4.0

I don’t know if I can give this book a fair rating as I had a massive break between reading. I binge read for a few days then went on a holiday where I couldn’t take this book with me then fell out of love with it for a while until I picked up in the past few days.

Overall I enjoyed it, some of the plot twists were amazing and in the traditional Leigh Bardugo style I expect. I was heartbroken over the death of Hanne but it made the plot twist so much more better.

I don’t know if I was expecting more just because I loved Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom so much but I felt like the pacing was a little off. The first part of the book seemed to drag a little and then the ending felt a bit rushed? That is the only reason why I didn’t give this 5 stars. Pacing aside I loved the characters and especially Zoyas character development which you can see how far she’s come not only from the first book of this duology but from the beginning of Shadow and Bone. I love that we got a few chapters with Kaz, Wylan and Jesper and that Inej had a few lines at the end. I thought this book was going to wrap everything up and right up until the last 3 pages I thought it was all wrapped up in a nice bow with the Darkling being where he is but then that last line. I really hope she continues with this series. Very excited to see what comes next. Definitely ready to have some more Kaz chapters again.
