Haunting

This story will stay with me for a long time. It’s like nothing I’ve ever read before. It had me texting people to say, “Have you read this? It’s tearing me apart and I love it !” The story was about a horrific accident, but the brilliance was in the way the aftermath was portrayed. Without giving away too much, the story being told from an afterlife perspective worked so well. It allowed for every single character’s story to be told fully. Their darkest personal moments were exposed. It had me completely engrossed in their recovery process. There was an element of hope and optimism written into the ending, but the beauty was in the trauma. The author did such an amazing job of describing a harrowing experience in an unflinchingly raw way.
