Darkest Before Dawn by Pippa DaCosta

4.0

Still awesome as ever, packed full of surprises, drama, and action. Pretty much everyone's temper flared in this book, and it was equally filled with drama and action. A couple characters drove me crazy with their actions (I'm looking at you, Ryder, Stefan, and Akil), but for the most part, everyone was in depth and strong. It was nice to get a sense of Muse's brother and what he was capable of. The lone complaint I have was that there didn't seem to be a whole story. Don't get me wrong– there were things going on and important scenes, but they didn't seem to add up to a whole narrative. There were time lapses, story lines that seemed to be forgotten, and missed opportunities. The ending battle wasn't nearly as climactic as in the previous novel, though it had major significance. However, this is just nitpicking. I loved this book as much as I loved the previous ones, the ending opened a world of possibilities, and the epilogue was a dreadful tease. Things are going to get wild from here!
