I really enjoyed this book. I kind of knew what it was about because some of my friends had to read it back in high school, but I never knew it would be this good. I loved all the internal monologues and Dorian's eventual journey towards darkness. I started crying when Basil finally saw Dorian's corrupted soul and when he tried to get Dorian to beg for forgiveness to relive him of his sins. And then I cried more when
Dorian killed Basil in the next paragraph. I also thought it was quite interesting that Dorian rarely got angry with Lord Henry, but maybe since it was Basil who first boosted Dorian's ego Dorian saw him as his reason for downfall
. I got chills when I read the last few sentences.

When they entered, they found hanging upon the wall a splendid portrait of their master as they had last seen him, in all the wonder of his exquisite youth and beauty. Lying on the floor was a dead man, in evening dress, with a knife in his heart. He was withered, wrinkled, and loathsome of visage. It was not till they had examined the rings that they recognized who it was.
