I really liked how the book started, I loved the build up and the thrill of the shooting in the courtroom. But the more I read, the more I realized that this was not the thriller book that I hoped for, but a romance book with... a lot of dumb characters. It took me forever to read this book because I just couldn't take it seriously.
The book is like 400 pages, and it takes place over less than a week. It's slow. It is much more of a romance book than a thriller book, which is kind of frustrating, given the synopsis. I just wanted to know what the deal was with the crimes, and instead, it was just this dude and the judge making googly eyes at each other every chance they could get. Also, the police officers really just weren't listening to the evidence.
Ugh anyway, I forced myself to finish the book, but was dangerously close to just giving it away and never finishing it. Good beginning... and that's pretty much it.
