A unique story about the magical role of pencils in WWII and the Chinese civil war compared with modern technology. Speaks to the power of sharing our stories, whether by pencil or through social media. The book has some bloody/graphic scenes, but it also made me want to write with a pencil.
Graphic: Self harm, Blood, Dementia, War
Moderate: Sexual content, Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Miscarriage, Abortion, Death of parent, Fire/Fire injury
