A surprisingly hopeful story about teen bulimia, with a likeable main character and the usual coming of age story. It’s charming and an easy read, a nice pick me up.
HOWEVER, it definitely shows its age. I doubt a book published today would be this liberal with numbers ( calories, weight, height etc) and methods (meal plans, helpers) — it’s also very blasé about the hunger. Yes, the focus is more the emotional state of the girl, but it does make it sound very easy tofast for multiple days</Spoiler>.
In essence, the book is a nice read with a sweet story, loveable characters and a hopeful ending.
