Play Along by TL Swan
1.0
I'm not sure T.L. Swan even wrote this book.
This is not her typical writing. If this book happens to be the first from her that you read then I beg you to try again with another book. She typically has amazing characters, plots that are hard to put down, and she usually makes me laugh with her books, evoking strong feelings from me with her writing. This was a complete shit show.
The editing was terrible. It was hard to keep up with who was talking. The scene would change in the middle of a paragraph and you would have to reread to try to figure out what was going on. There were page breaks in the wrong spots. It was honestly hard to finish on the formatting alone.
The story was okay, but not great. The h changed personalities like crazy, and not in a "growth of character" type of way, but more like a different person would pick up and start writing. One minute she was a crying damsel in distress, the next she was kicking the ass of a man she couldn't get away from a week previously, then she was a crying mess again, then she was strong and carefree, etc. It gave me whiplash trying to keep up with her. The H had nice character growth. It was organic and nice.
I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. It was terrible. A book has to be unbearable for me not to be able to finish so I powered through, but again, I am wondering if T.L. Swan even wrote it.
