When Zoey moves into her dead mother’s condo on a fictional island in South Carolina, she meets a cast of characters that are just as broken as her. On her first night there one of her neighbors dies. On the search for a lost story in the neighbor’s condo, Zoey and the other inhabitants of the community find that the past has a way of creeping up and haunt them. Literally.

I thought this book was very sweet and wholesome. While this was built on a lot of magical realism, the most unrealistic thing was the characters ages, haha. But that is such a small complaint. This book is beautifully written and touches on themes of grief, loss, found family, and the ways people can connect with one another through their shared past.

Would recommend if you’re looking for a cozy read.
