The Boy and the Sea by Camille Andros

I don't know about you, but I love the ocean. I don't live by the ocean, but I love visiting it when I can. Something about the water is just so calming. This picture book is about a boy's connection with the sea. The story starts when the boy is a child just exploring the world and asking lots of questions. As the story progresses the boy grows older and by the end is an old man whose questions still go unanswered.

The message of the story centers around asking questions and that sometimes it is okay to not always have the answer. The illustrations are absolutely stunning and make reading this book a pure delight. The majestic illustrations match the meaningful words well and makes the book as a whole a real masterpiece. (Swipe to see a few of them!)

This picture book is a lyrical reminder to continue to ask questions even if those questions never have an answer. I would highly recommend this book for any home library. Young kids will enjoy the colorful images and older kids will find meaning in the message of the book. It is a book that will grow with your child and I can guess will be a very popular addition to your library.

Thank you so much to @uplitreads and @camilleandros for my copy! All opinions are my own.
