I have absolutely adored all of Kevin Kwan’s books up to this latest instalment, and I expected this to be my favourite yet! The blurb sold this to me as my favourite type of summer read, but this just wasn’t it.
I feel like this book just missed the mark in a lot of ways. Lots of plot points introduced but none felt fully seen through, the main plot dragged on and felt lost at times, and the extravagant escapism was less indulgent for its brevity amidst an expansive list of exotic locations -which felt a little false this time.
