I genuinely couldn't tell you if I love or hate these books.

I didn't necessarily feel inclined to read the sequel.....but then The Atlas Six stuck in my head rent free, and I suddenly had to.

I have a lot of the same feelings with this as I did with the first book. It has great dark academia vibes and some truly pretty passages and moments where you get deep, ugly, gorgeous insight in the characters.

Then you have to drag yourself through the next hundred pages where nothing seems to happen. And once again, I feel all of the action was saved for the last quarter of the book, combusting in a rush after I trudged through the first 3/4.

It's actually confusing to me how I can be so into these books in one moment and bored to tears and/or completely confused as to what's supposed to be happening the next. But hey. I guess they have my attention all the same.
