A very odd book. Studied this at uni and with some further reading, context and seminar discussion it IS quite interesting. Deliberately ambiguous whether this is a pro/anti fascist retelling of the original Greek tragedy. Definitely not something I would read for pleasure, and don't think I particularly liked it or agreed with Anouilh, but is interesting to read in it's historical context.
