Bits & Pieces by Dawn Hosmer

5.0

I have to say the book had a very strong start and hooked me right away. I was already invested just by the first chapter. I love when a book has the capability to get me invested with a character or a storyline. Hosmer definitely achieved this. The writer did an amazing job of setting the scene with her descriptions and the emotions that hide underneath. The author is skilled in painting a picture and bringing her writing to life.

The author does such a great job of introducing the colors of her flashes and the experiences that led to her developing her skills. The backstories really help the reader to get even more hooked and invested in the story. Each story has a different meaning and connects you closer to Tessa.

I enjoy the bonds she forms with her therapist and her brother. It shows that despite her gift that many don’t understand, she’s not alone. This fast-paced suspense really keeps you guessing and questioning whom she can trust. The visions and emotions that plague her really take over every aspect of her life.

The author is incredibly skilled at you wanting to pull for Tessa and hoping that she can overcome this insanity. I was riveted and on the edge of my seat up until the end. I wanted to rip my hair out, I felt the rapid beating of my heart, and anguish as Tessa did.

I highly recommend this book and will definitely be reading more from this author. Enjoy this amazing and well-written psychological suspense story. You’re in for a ride!
