It took me probably about 300 pages to actually enjoy Tamsin as a character, which can be pretty rough, but by the end of it I did genuinely like where she ended up. The biggest seller is the plot for me, with a lot of twists I genuinely didn't see coming, and a few that I did. I like when the romance aspect is a subplot and not a major focus, and that's definitely the case here, especially because Emrys winds up leaving her near the end anyways
