Did not finish book.
DNF'd around 20%.
I'm sorry. I really wanted to love this book and had been so excited for so many months about it because a lot of people are recommending this for those who love fantasy. I did like the first few chapters and thought that it was very interesting. I loved how the story was unfolding and the way it was written. However, I did not think that we would delve into the life of the main character like we have forgotten about the issue at hand. So that was a bummer for me and what made me drop this book. A lot of chunks of the book felt unnecessary and could have been taken out in the final edit. It felt so tedious and longggg.
Well, we're not here on earth to try to read books that we know we're not going to love just for the sake of finishing it. I don't think I'd regret this DNF.
