It took me a few tries to finish this book, but when I did it was a good experience. I really enjoyed the setting of the "perfect" small town and its residents. I also liked most of the characters and enjoyed the (rather slow) plot. There wasn't much of a plottwist and it was a more character-driven book. I really enjoy Celeste Ng's writing style and I think that I even prefer this book over "Everything I never told you" (still a good book of course). It was a rather slow book but I enjoyed reading it, it just took me some time. My only issues were, that it was hard to keep up the reading (as I said, took me a few tries) and that I really wish that the ending would close up the story a bit more. I saw a review on here that said something like "mediocre beginning, great middle and mediocre ending" and I think that sums it up pretty good. It wasn't outstandingly great to me but still an enjoyable read.
