I was so excited when this popped up on my @netgalley shelf! This sounds like it would be right up my alley, two nerds falling in love, what's not to like? I have to be brutally honest here, the beginning was SO BORING. It was a mixture of way too much background information and the main character, River, was truly despicable. Once this story kicked up, it really kicked. Embarrassingly, I stayed up until 4am reading this book and I regret nothing. It was such a pure love story there was nothing to deny. I loved that Jess and River just didn't like each other from the start. River was such a cute nerd, but Jess really is the character that captured my heart. Following the story of a single mom finding love, was such an important story to tell. I could see this being very eye-opening to many moms out there. This is such a unique take on the regular "I hate you because I love you" premise. I thought this story was so genius and modern. This definitely brought romance novels into 2021 for me. Especially in a post COVID world, I would love to have an app like this!! Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery Books for the early copy!!
