Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

adventurous dark mysterious fast-paced

5.0

Plagiarism, racism, internet trolling, the dark side of the publishing industry, bullying, and thrillers.

Yellowface is a book about two young writers, Athena Liu and June Hayward, whose friendship is a mix of jealousy and bitterness.

In the beginning, we are invited to see how ugly June is when she sees Athena succeeding with her novels. Until the part when Athena died and June stole Athena's manuscript.

And from the middle to the end, we are invited to see June's side and how Athena made her like this. Athena's character, in my opinion, is also unforgivable. Stealing other people's stories without giving credit is evil too. Moreover, the story that was taken is a story that is not pleasant...

However, this book is a rollercoaster of emotions; everyone has a bad side... Even Candice is evil. And I swear, it's really cool that R.F. Kuang was able to write this book; it really illustrates that all the hate related to the author on Twitter is really real. And the satire in this book will really make you shake your head.
