Kingdom of the Feared by Kerri Maniscalco

Honestly I don’t understand why everyone hated this book. I had a good time. I truly liked Emilia as a main character and Wrath was a perfect partner for her this entire book.

The main story with House Vengeance was super interesting and I felt like because of the memory block Emilia had, it unfolded nicely and wrapped up a lot from the other books. Getting to see Emilia as Fury was fun for me. The additional twist with Claudia/Lucia was a cool addition and added depth to a lot of the princes and her role.

What I definitely DID NOT LIKE about this book was the other rando story lines that we were being forced to care about. Like where did vampires and werewolves come in and why did Emilia even have to be a part of it??? The whole Vesta storyline was hard to follow AND hard to believe that it was important. I get there was a whole thing with Greed but again, I didn’t care… like I’m a little more concerned about Wrath being able to fucking love and Emilia learning she’s a goddess but okay. The Vesta story made Vittoria and Emilia’s relationship arc seem so much less believable because by the end, they’re acting like loving twins again. Are we just letting go the fact that she put her sister through hell, tried to kill Wrath, murdered Antonio, and basically chose werewolves over Emilia?? Vittoria is a cool character but her choices are so unbelievable.

Just really needed to rant about the dumb vampire/werewolf storyline but it was honestly easy to look over because I really loved the main plot and characters. And I’m always rooting for a happy ending
