Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku, Vol. 5 by Fujita

3.0

The second lead couples made this book for me. Loved seeing my faves get married, even though the wedding was so rushed and short. I wish it could’ve been longer and we could’ve seen more. I can come up with a couple of scenes that they could’ve taken out and exchanged it with just saying lol. I LOVED Nao and kos flourishing relationship and the miscommunication that gave me all the angst I needed. I didn’t think I was going to like them back then but I was proved wrong. Super cute, I love them. Now… the main lead couple…Hirotaka and narumi. I’m sorry but they are sooo boring. They are part of the reason I’m giving this one a 3 star. I had my hopes that they were going to make real progress in this book considering it’s the second to last volume but no, they have somehow remained in that same stagnant position since book 1. There is no growth in their relationship, they don’t seem even half as close as we have seen kabakura and hanako throughout the mangas in their most intimate moments. There is just 0 progress in general. And in the simplest terms, they are just boring.

I was thinking back into what made me finish or even continue this manga series and truly if it wasn’t for kabakura and hanako, I wouldn’t even have given it a second look. Even though I enjoyed the scenes for the second lead couples, I am just dissatisfied with Hirotakas and narumis progress which is why I’m giving it a 3 star.
