Spirit by Brigid Kemmerer
4.0

Hunter was always my least favorite character from the series. So I was less than excited to here that this one would be about him. And I also thought [a:Brigid Kemmerer|4629194|Brigid Kemmerer|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1345284537p2/4629194.jpg] was going over board with the whole guy and girl narrate how they get together because of the guy's abilities. But she did not disappoint. Spirit was completely different from its predecessor. It was quickly-paced, exciting, and heartbreaking.

While Hunter is still not my favorite character, I definitely like him a lot more. I don't know how he didn't murder his grandfather, and I felt his frustration with the world like it was my own. I didn't like Kate in the beginning, but by the end I loved her and was sad for her and Hunter. Her inner turmoil with becoming what she was born to do, or what she thought was right gained my support.

However, I'm beginning to think Brigid Kemmerer is extremely cruel. She lets us get attached to the characters from the previous books, and then we don't get to see them any more! Chris, Becca, Laney, Gaberial!?! Where did they go??????? I miss their love stories!!! But I'm looking forward to Nick's in the next one!
