The Poisoned Chocolates Case
by Anthony Berkeley
This was really fun. Here it says this is the fifth Sheringham novel, but it honestly stands on its own. It’s a solid and entertaining puzzle, with a good combination of investigating and discussing between the sleuths involved.
Also, am I the only one that’s a little tired of every British detective novel being pitched as “for Christie fans”? It seems a bit weird to compare every one of her contemporaries to Christie herself, and it undermines the diverse contributions of other authors by watering the genre down to just Christie and maybe Sayers sometimes (nevermind the differences between them!)
