Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl by Carrie Brownstein
5.0
I really appreciate the focus of this memoir. Rather than trying to pack it full of every single one of her projects Carrie Brownstein chooses to focus on her childhood, getting into music, and Sleater-Kinney.
Funny, self aware, and honest Brownstein's anecdotes and asides range from delightful to dark and the pacing is swift and plesant to read.
I only hope that later on she will produce a follow up chronicling her other endeavors in music, reviewing for NPR, Portlandia, and whatever else she makes happen!
