i think i last read this book in the sixth grade, when the girl i probably had a crush on was designing Selection-Style gowns for people in our class. My knowledge of my own probable-crush was non-existent, but i knew our friendship was fading (far more painfully for me than for her) and it meant the world when she sketched eight dresses designed just for me. now, eight years later, another smart and intelligent and freckled brunette has brought the series back into my life. she is more giving and loving and wonderful than i could have ever imagined. i know sixth grade me is jumping for joy right now. i hope the girl i once knew is finding her way. i love the beautiful human beside me, who sends me nauseatingly perfect quotes from this book to express their love and devotion. she is not the world. neither is this book. but they are both such wonderful examples of everything that makes the world good.



i think i’ve consumed too much “the anthropocene reviewed” content. this is not a review, this is a love letter! welp.
