This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
3.0

This book was just the fun and light contemporary I needed to rip myself out of the clutches of a slump, so thank you a trillion times for that, book!

First of all, I picked up this book because it had the promise of emails and that always makes my heart soar after reading Simon vs the Homosapien's Agenda and Letters to the Lost. Now, I was a tiny little bit disappointed in that aspect of this book, because there isn't nearly as much of it as I would have liked. We get to see how it started, but then we jump forward in time and within 100 pages we've figured out who the other person is... It made me a bit mad because the mystery and suspense are what gives me life.

That being said! I still really enjoyed this book. It was cute, I liked the romance, I liked the celebrity aspect, I liked the setting. It was great! Not really the 5-star stuff though, because my heart didn't stop in this. That's the bar I set for my 5-star ratings.

Ellie and Graham were super cute. They both definitely had their struggles, but they only brought a more interesting aspect to their characters. I would have liked to see more side characters in bigger roles to see those interactions, but you can't win em all!

All in all, a pretty good book!

P.S. Bagel is not a creative name for a Beagle, Graham!
