*** Part of my journey to re-read all Discworld novels in order ***
"Sourcery" is one of the Discworld novels I like the least. I've never been a huge fan of the Wizards storyline, as it's to male dominated and simply not that interesting to me. Rincewind is a character I could never warm up to, and even the luggage lost its appeal after its first appearance.
Sadly, I didn't care for any of the characters in Sourcery, except for the librarian. All the characters still felt too flat and stereotypical, and the story itself suffered from what I call the "Simpsons" phenomenon: no matter what Disc-shattering things happen, in the end everything is back to normal.
After I had trouble making my way through the pages, I switched to the audiobook, which was a lot more enjoyable and had an amazing voice cast. I'd definitely recommend the audio version - or to skip this book entirely and head straight to the Witches.
