The beginning of The Outsider had me totally hooked. Such an interesting premise, great characters, and great writing. I blew through the first couple hundred pages in a day. It was looking like it was going to be a 5 star read for me. However, the pace of the book slowed down a little and it took me over a month to finish the rest. The story just got more predictably and boring.
Things I loved: The characters, descriptions, plot, and horror elements.
Things I didn't like so much:I think overall I was disappointed that the "explanation" was entirely supernatural and that the conclusion seemed a little rushed. I was also disappointed that I ended up liking the HBO show better.
