Medieval Bodies: Life and Death in the Middle Ages by Jack Hartnell

5.0

A fascinating look at how the medieval world viewed different parts of the human body. The Middle Ages is an era where we envision horrific medical cures and incomplete knowledge of the human body. But, it was lit quite like that. There was Classical knowledge mixed with Christianity supplemented by Arab science.

This book touches on science, religion, and art. It’s an amazingly well done and readable synthesis
