The Busy Mom's Guide to Spiritual Survival by Kelli B. Trujillo

3.0

I’m not much of a self-help book reader, unless it’s jammed packed with data and stats and lots of resources/to-do’s. But what I appreciated most about this book was the reassurance that my spiritual journey is not going to look the same as someone who isn’t a parent. And even compared to other parents, my experience, abilities, and limitations aren’t going to be the same. And that’s okay. While there’s definitely a place and need for moments of insane spiritual feasting (Bible study), the reality is that it’s just not practical for busy parents. If nothing else, this book gives a gentle makeover on the application of spiritual disciplines in the context of parenthood. It also helped me to rediscover certain disciplines I’m either lacking in or just don’t like(I.e. the Sabbath). I’m committing to restudying, redefining, and restructuring these things.
