The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie

5.0

Almost everything I want to say about this book would be a spoiler. A problem that the writer of the introduction in the edition I have clearly also faced, as unfortunately something she said gave me a significant clue - I recommend skipping any forewords or introductions and reading them after finishing the novel.

I can say that it's brilliant. The mystery is superbly crafted, the reveal is handled perfectly, and the narration is incredibly compelling. In all honesty I'm already wondering when to do a reread.

If you're looking for a murder mystery to read and you haven't picked this one up yet - do it now.
