The audiobook enhanced the experience with the beautiful songs and sound effects. I enjoyed the story, and didn’t even know it was a retelling of a song I heard before until near the end. I enjoyed the prose for the most part, but sometimes the flowery nature of it detracted from the story, especially when it came in to say things like “you’d expect this to happen in another story”. It fits for a different writing style to me, so it came off as more annoying at times.
Graphic: Death, Grief, Murder
Minor: Body horror, Stalking
